Cane Hill Consultation Website
In partnership with Croydon Council and the Mayor of London, Barratt Homes and Ward Homes has been working closely with local stakeholders and the community on developing plans for new homes and business premises on Cane Hill.
We aim to work within the existing landscape to provide a sustainable community, which retains the character and rural feel for the site, while providing much-needed housing.
Planning approval for the development has now been fully granted by the London Borough of Croydon, following the conclusion of final negotiations which will see Barratt Homes and Ward Homes donate funds to the council to be used for the local community.
In April, Croydon Borough Council granted outline consent for 488 homes and businesses and full consent for a further 187 homes. Final approval was agreed by the council on October 22nd for the scheme. As well as 677 homes, 80% of which will have three or more bedrooms and 24% of which will be affordable, the development includes new roads from Portnalls Road and the Marlpit Lane/Brighton Road roundabout. The former hospital’s water tower, chapel, administration building, North Lodge and farm will all be retained.
The Mayor of London has also approved the plans. A judicial review will now take place.
